<strong>Hadith of the Day</strong>

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962567″></a>_When you see a dream you dislike_ <strong>Hadith of the Day</strong></h2>

Jabir رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

If anyone of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him spit <em>(slightly)</em> to his left and seek refuge with Allãh from shaytãn thrice, and turn over onto his other side.” (Muslim)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962568″></a>_Being kind whilst transacting_ <strong>Hadith of the Day</strong></h2>

Jabir bin Abdullãh رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“May Allãh show Mercy upon a person who adopts a kind attitude whilst selling, <em>(whilst)</em> buying and whilst demanding the repayment of loans.” (Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962569″></a>_Beautifying one’s own Jannah_ <strong>Hadith of the Day</strong></h2>

Jabir bin Abdullãh رضي الله عنه narrates that’s Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“Whoever says: سبحان الله العظيم و بحمده

‘Allãh is free from all faults, the greatest, and for him is all praise’,

A date-palm tree is planted for him in paradise.” (Tirmidhi)

Hadith of the Day

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962570″></a>_Be patient, Allãh will respond to your Du’as_</h2>

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that’s Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“The Du’a of every one of you is <em>(definitely)</em> accepted as long as the person making Du’a does not grow impatient <em>(when he fails to see the acceptance, as Allãh may have delayed its acceptance due to some wisdom, or Allãh may have removed a calamity by the Du’a or any other reason that is best known by Allãh, who possesses the wisdom behind it)</em> and the person making Du’a due to impatience says: I supplicated to my Lord but it was not accepted! <em>(for this person the Du’a is not accepted)</em>.” (Bukhari)

<strong>Hadith of the Day</strong>

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962571″></a>_Every Muslim should give Sadaqah_</h2>

Abu Musa رضي الله عنه reports that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962572″></a>“Every Muslim should give Sadaqah.”</h2>

He said, “What about if someone has nothing to give?”

He ﷺ said, “He should get work and earn something and give Sadaqah.”

He said, “And if he is unable to do that?”

He ﷺ said, “He should help someone in need.”

He said, “What if he cannot find anyone?”

He ﷺ said, “He should do a righteous/good deed.”

He said, “What if he cannot do that?”

He ﷺ said, “He should refrain from doing evil/bad actions. That is Sadaqah for him.” (Bukhâri & Muslim)

<h3><a name=”_Toc12962573″></a>_Du’a for bidding farewell_ <strong>Hadith of the Day</strong></h3>

Qaz’ah narrates: Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه said to me,

‘Come and I shall bid farewell to you in the manner the Prophet ﷺ used to bid me farewell <em>(when I intended to travel)’;</em>

أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللّٰهَ دِيْنَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَخَوَاتِيْمَ عَمَلِكَ

“I entrust to Allãh <em>(the protection of)</em> your religion, your trusts <em>(and rights to Allãh and others)</em>, and the last of your deeds <em>(finishing on a good ending which can take you directly into Jannah)</em>. (Abu Dawúd)

Abu Saeed Al-Khudri رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“When anyone amongst you yawns, he should cover his mouth with his hand, since Shaytãn enters the <em>(uncovered)</em> mouth.” (Muslim)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962575″></a>_The greed which will never be quenched_</h2>

Ibn Abbãs رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ has said,

“If a son of Adam had two valleys of money, he would wish for a third valley, for nothing can fill the belly of the human <em>(Children of Adam)</em> except dust. And Allãh forgives the one who repents to Him. (Bukhari) Hadith of the day

<strong>Hadith of the Day</strong>

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962576″></a>_The power of the Adhan_</h2>

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ has said,

‘When the muadhin calls the adhan, Shaytan flees hurriedly away.’

(Bukhari & Muslim)

<em>The narrator of this Hadith; Abu Salih As-Samman رحمه الله تعالى states that when one hears [scary/eery] sounds [and fears the presence of evil Jinns] one should call out the adhan since it has the effect of chasing away the shaytan.</em>

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullah ﷺ said,

A sign of a man’s good observance of Islam <em>(i.e his piety)</em> is to keep away from that which does not concern him.” (Tirmidhi)

<strong>Hadith of the Day</strong>

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962578″></a>_The hour of acceptance during the night_</h2>

Jabir bin Abdullãh رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullah ﷺ said,

“Verily, there is an hour during the night in which no Muslim individual will coincide and ask Allãh for good in <em>(in respect to)</em> the matters of this world and the Hereafter, except that Allãh shall grant it to him; and this is the case every night.” (Muslim)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962579″></a>_don’t make the third person feel left out_</h2>

Abdullãh bin Mas’ud رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullah ﷺ said,

“When there are three of you sitting together, then two of you should not talk secretly, leaving the third person alone until you meet up with other people, because <em>(two)</em> talking secretly would make him upset.” (Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962580″></a>_Don’t pluck out your grey hair_</h2>

Amr bin Shuaib mentions from his father, who narrates from his grandmother that Rasúlullah ﷺ mentioned,

“Do not pluck out grey hair; a believer does not grow white hair except it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection.” (Abu Dawúd)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962581″></a>_Sunnah Amal before going sleep_</h2>

A’isha رضي الله عنها narrates that when Rasúlullah ﷺ would retire to bed every night, he would recite..

Surah Ikhlaas (قل هو الله أحد)

Surah Falaq (قل أعوذ برب الفلق)

Surah Naas (قل أعوذ برب الناس)

and thereafter blow on his both palms.

He would then rub his palms upon his entire body.

He would commence rubbing his palms on his head, face and the front portion of his body.

<em>He would repeat this action three times.</em> (Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962582″></a>_Durood to obtain the intercession of Muhammad ﷺ_</h2>

Ruwayfi’ bin thãbit Al-Ansãri رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullah ﷺ said,

“Whosoever recites the following will be blessed with my intercession on the day of Qiyaamah:

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَنْزِلْهُ المقْعَدَ المقَرَّبَ عِنْدَكَ يَومَ القِيَامَة

Allahumma salli ala Muhammad wa anzilhul maq’adal muqaraba indaka youmal qiyaamah.

<em>O Allah, shower your choicest durood (blessings) on Muhammad ﷺ and grant him the lofty position of maqaam-e-Mahmood on the day of Qiyaamah.</em> (Ahmad)

Zaid bin Arqam رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“Whosoever does not trim his mustache <em>(such that it comes over his top lip)</em>, then he is not from amongst us.” (Nasa’i)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962584″></a>_People are just like camels_</h2>

Abdullãh bin Amr رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“People are just like camels: out of one hundred, it is difficult to find a single camel suitable to ride. <em>(similarly, out of a hundred, it is difficult to find one person who is exemplary, e.g. he is knowledgeable and practicing his knowledge with sincerity, etc.)</em>” (Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962585″></a>_The upper hand is better than the lower hand_</h2>

Hakeem ibn Hizam رضي الله عنه reports,

“I asked Rasúlullãh ﷺ for assistance and he gave me,

then I asked Rasúlullãh ﷺ again and he gave me,

then I asked Rasúlullãh ﷺ yet again and he gave me.

Then Rasúlullãh ﷺ said:

“O Hakeem, verily, this wealth is lush/attractive and sweet. Whoever receives it graciously will be blessed in it but whoever receives it with a greedy heart will not be blessed in it. He will be like one who eats yet is never satisfied. The upper hand that gives is better than the lower hand that receives/takes.” (Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962586″></a>_The most respectable slave to Allãh_</h2>

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said:

“Musaa ibn ‘Imraan عليه السلام said:

“O my Rabb! Who is the most respectable slave to you?”

Allãh, the Almighty and Majestic, replied:

“He who forgives, despite having the power to avenge.” (Baihaqi)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962587″></a>_The world is a prison_</h2>

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“The world is a prison for a believer and Paradise for a disbeliever <em>(as the believer will have to follow rules and guidelines, whereas the disbeliever will not be bound by any rules.)”</em>

Abdullãh bin Amr رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said:

“The best of companions in the sight of Allãh is the best of them towards his companions, and the best of neighbors in the sight of Allãh is the best of them towards his neighbor.” (Tirmidhi)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962589″></a>_Which of the people is best?_</h2>

Abdullãh bin Amr رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ was asked,

“Which of the people is best?” He ﷺ replied:

“Everyone who is pure of heart and sincere <em>(Truthful)</em> in speech.” the said:

“Sincerity in speech, we know what this is, but what is a purity of heart?” He ﷺ said:

“It is <em>(the heart)</em> that is pious and pure, with no sin, injustice, deception or jealousy in the heart.” (Ibn Majah)

<strong>Hadith of the Day</strong>

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962590″></a>_Having an afternoon nap_</h2>

Sahl bin Sa’d رضي الله عنه reports:

We used to be happy on Fridays, for there was an old lady who used to pull out the roots of Silq and put it in a cooking pot with some barley. When we had finished the prayer, we would visit her and she would present that dish before us. So we used to be happy on Fridays because of that, and we never used to take our meals or have a mid-day nap except after the Friday prayer. By Allah, that meal contained no fat.

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962591″></a>_The afternoon nap is called Qayloolah._</h2>

<em>It is, in essence, a power nap. Even if one does not sleep, simply lying down for a few minutes also helps to give the body a boost to see it through the late evening with good energy.</em>

<strong>Hadith of the Day</strong>

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962592″></a>_Taking the name of Allãh_</h2>

Jãbir رضي الله عنه reports that Rasúlulläh ﷺ said:

When evening approaches (i.e. the time before Maghrib till the night sets in), keep your children indoors and do not allow them to leave the home, for the Shayateen roams about at that time.

When a portion of the night passes, then you may allow them out,

and take the name of Allãh when closing your door,

and take the name of Allãh when putting off your lantern,

and take the name of Allãh when tying/fastening your waterbag (water storage container),

and take the name of Allãh when covering your utensils (and ensure to cover your utensils) even if it means placing something above it (i.e. placing something across it on the top).” (Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962593″></a>_Faithful believers are for each other_</h2>

Abu Musa al-Ash’ari رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

Hadith of the Day

“Verily, Faithful believers are for each other like the bricks of a wall, enforcing <em>(and supporting)</em> each other.” whilst <em>(saying this)</em> Rasúlullãh ﷺ clasped his hands by interlacing his fingers.

<strong>Hadith of the Day</strong>

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962594″></a>_Resort to Salãh when you are in difficulty_</h2>

Huzaifah رضي الله عنه narrates that whenever Rasúlullãh ﷺ happened to face any difficulty, he would at once resort to salãh. (Ahmed)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962595″></a>Remaining silent during Jumuah Khutbah</h2>

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه reports that Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said:

He who took a bath and then came for Jumu’a prayer and then prayed what was fixed for him, then kept silence till the Imam finished the sermon, and then prayed along with him, his sins between that time and the next Friday would be forgiven, and even of three days more.

Ali رضي الله عنه narrates,

When Rasúlullãh ﷺ would enter the home, he would divide his time into three portions; One portion dedicated for <em>(the ibadah of)</em> Allãh, one for his family and one for himself.” (Tirmidhi)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962597″></a>_Always remain in the state of wudhu_</h2>

Rasúlullãh ﷺ told Anas رضي الله عنه,

“O my Son! If you can, then remain in the state of wudu perpetually, for if the angel of death takes the soul of someone and if he is in the state of wudu, he acquires shahadah (the rank of the martyrs).”

(Shu’abul Iman of Baihaqi)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962598″></a>_Eat together with the name of Allãh_</h2>

Wahshi رضي الله عنه reports that the Sahabah رضي الله عنهم once complained to Rasúlullãh ﷺ:

“O Rasúlullãh ﷺ, we eat but do not feel satisfied.”

Rasúlullãh ﷺ asked: “Perhaps you are eating individually?”

The Sahabah رضي الله عنهم replied in the affirmative.

Rasúlullãh ﷺ advised them saying: “Eat together and take the name of Allãh at the time of eating, Allãh will place barakah in your food. (Ibn Majah)

years ago, a great saint of Allah ﷻ left this world in such a state the words…

هذا حبيب الله مات في حب الله

“This is the Beloved Allāh who passed away in the Love of Allāh”

…beers divinely are written on his blessed forehead.

Abdullãh bin Amr رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ has said,

“One who has devoted to the Qur’an <em>(by reciting it according to it’s rights)</em> will be told:

“Read, climb higher and recite meticulously <em>(i.e. with tajweed)</em> as you recited meticulously whilst you were in the world, for verily your abode in Jannah is upon your recitation of the final verse.” (Abu Dãwud)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962600″></a>_Sending Durood upon Rasúlullah ﷺ when hearing His name_</h2>

Ali ibn Abi Talib رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“The miserly person is the one before whom I am mentioned, however, he does not send Salah <em>(blessings)</em> upon me.” (Tirmidhi)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962601″></a>The Du’aa for safety from one’s enemies</h2>

Abu Musa Ash’arí رضي الله عنه reports that Rasúlullãh ﷺ advised that the following Du’aa should be recited when one is in fear of something:

<em>اللّٰهُمَّ اِنّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِيْ نُحُوْرِهِمْ وَنَعُوْذُبِكَ مِنْ شُرُوْرِهِمْ</em>

<em>Translation:</em> <em>O Allãh! We place you in (our) defense against them and we seek your protection from their evil.</em>

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962602″></a>_Tasbeeh after every Salah_</h2>

Abu Hurairah رضى الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

Whoever recites after every salaah:

__ × Subhan Allah

__ × Alhamdulillah

__× Allah hu Akbar

Totaling __, and then completes the __ with

لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير

<em>La ilaaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu lahul mulk wa lahul hamdu wa huwa a’la kulli shay in qadeer</em>

All his sins will be forgiven even though they may be (as great in number) like the foam of the ocean. (Muslim)

Baraa bin Aazib رضى الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allãh ﷺ advised him:

“When you are retiring to bed, then perform wudhu as you perform wudhu for salãh.”

Abu Umamah رضى الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allãh ﷺ said:

“I guarantee a house on the outskirts of Paradise for one who leaves arguments even if he is right, and a house in the middle of Paradise for one who abandons lies even when joking, and a house in the highest part of Paradise for one who makes his character excellent.”

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962605″></a>– AN EDICT ON SHEESHA LOUNGES –</h2>

QUESTION

What do the Ulama [scholars] say regarding the growing trend in the UK of ‘Shisha’ lounges wherein Muslim men and women flirt and deem it permissible? In our locality, people have added music and dancing with the intermingling of the men and women. There is also belly dancing and other immoral acts. Some shameless people are saying that the Ulama are in support of this. What do the Sunni, Ashari and Maturidi scholars, followers of the four schools in subsidiary issues say regarding this abomination? Also, is there any advice the scholars can give to the owners of such businesses?

ANSWER

No sane individual would attribute the permissibility of the aforementioned acts to the Ulama [scholars] of Islam. Attending the places you have described is totally Haram [Forbidden] in the Shariah [Law of Allah]. In reality, such people are running businesses akin to night clubs and strip clubs, without the alcohol. In fact, it is Haram [Forbidden] to even eat or smoke in such places, and they should be avoided at all cost. It is necessary for all who have attended such clubs and ‘Sheesha lounges’ to repent. The Muslims who have opened such businesses are only deceiving the younger generation of Muslims and their sole intention of doing so is the acquisition of wealth. They are promoting indecency, immorality, and shamelessness amongst young and old Muslims and alike. They are corrupting an entire generation of young boys and girls under the guise of permissibility. Their earnings are impermissible and impure; and if they have any shame, they must repent and close their businesses.

This is not a matter of sinning privately but openly, and further to that, promoting sin and indecency. We do not encourage people to divulge people’s private sins if they are not harming the rights of others, but in this case, there is open sinning and promotion of sin. May Allah Almighty cover the sins of all believers and enable us all to repent openly and privately. If it were not for the widespread corruption as a result of these ‘Sheesha lounges’, we would have covered the faults of others, as no one is free from fault amongst humans except the prophets (Allah bless them and grant them peace).

Jãbir bin Samurah رضى الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allãh ﷺ said:

“It is better for a father to teach etiquette to his son than to give one entire measure of charity.” (Tirmidhi)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962607″></a>The Virtues of reciting Surah Dukhaan</h2>

. Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (Radi Allaahu anhu) reported that Allaah’s Messenger s.a.w (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) as saying,

“If anyone recites Haameem Al-Dukhaan any night, a Thousand angels will ask forgiveness for him in the evening.”

[A Hadith narrated in Tirmidhi]

. Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (Radi Allahu anhu) narrated that Rasoolullaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said,

“Whoever shall recite Surah Dukhaan on the eve of Friday, he is forgiven in the morning.”

. Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (Radi Allaahu Anhu) has said: ‘I have heard the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) saying,

“Whoever prays Surah Dukhaan on the eve of Friday or on Friday Allaah Ta’aala makes for him a home in paradise.”‘

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962608″></a>You will be with those whom you loved</h2>

Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه narrates that indeed a man asked Rasúlullãh ﷺ:

“When would be the

Last Hour, O Rasúllallãh?”

Rasulullah ﷺ replied: “What have you prepared for it?”

He replied:

“I have not prepared for it with much of Salaah, nor fasting, nor charity, but I love Allah and His Messenger.”

He ﷺ said:

<em>“(On the day of Resurrection)</em> You will be with those whom you loved <em>(in this world).”</em>

(Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962609″></a>Two wolves roaming freely among sheep</h2>

Ka’b ibn Malik رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said:

“Two wolves roaming freely among sheep are less destructive to them than the desire for wealth and fame is to a person’s religion” (Tirmidhi)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962610″></a>_This Ummah is one body_</h2>

Nu’man bin Bashir رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said:

“You can see the believers in terms of their mercy for each other, love for each other and kind nature to one another bearing resemblance to one body. If any part of the body is not well, then the whole body shares the sleeplessness and fever with wit.” (Bukhari)

Abu Burdah bin Musa al-Ash’ari narrates that Abdullãh ibn Umar رضي الله عنه said to me,

“Have you heard your father narrating something from Rasúlullãh ﷺ regarding the Jumuah time on Friday?” I replied:

“Yes, I heard him say from Rasúlullãh ﷺ <em>(these words)</em>:

“It <em>(the valuable time)</em> is between the time when the Imãm sits down until the end of the Jumuah prayer.” (Muslim)

Sahl ibn Sa’d رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allãh ﷺ said:

“He who looks after an orphan and I will be like this in Paradise” Whilst <em>(saying this)</em> the Prophet ﷺ indicated with his middle and index fingers, separating them <em>(slightly)</em>. (Bukhari)

Salman al Farsi رضي الله عنه reports that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“Anyone who takes a bath on Friday and cleans himself as much as he can and puts oil (on his hair) or scents himself; and then proceeds for the prayer and does not force his way between two persons <em>(assembled in the mosque for the Friday prayer),</em> and prays as much as is written for him and remains quiet when the Imam delivers the Khutba, all his sins in between the present and the last Friday will be forgiven.” (Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962616″></a>_Modesty brings only goodness_</h2>

Imran bin Hussain رضي الله عنه reports that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said,

“Modesty brings nothing except for goodness.” (Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962617″></a>_Prevent urine drops falling on clothes_</h2>

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullah ﷺ said,

“Urination is the main cause of punishment in the grave <em>(i.e. as a result of not being careful with drops of urine etc. coming onto one’s body and clothes; since cleanliness is part of faith)</em>. (Ibn Majah)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962618″></a>_Blessing granted in the morning_</h2>

Sakhr ibn Al-Ghamidi رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ supplicated:

اللهم بارك لأمتي في بكورها

“O Allah, bless my nation in their early morning.”

Whenever Rasúlullãh ﷺ sent out an army, he would send them in the beginning of the day. Sakhr رضي الله عنه was a merchant and he used to send his merchandise at the beginning of the day, so his trade flourished and he made a fortune. (Tirmidhi)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962619″></a>_Comprehensive advise from our Master_</h2>

Abu Ayyub Ansari رضي الله عنه narrates that a man came to Rasúlullah ﷺ and said,

“O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Teach me something and make it concise.”

Rasúlullah ﷺ said,

<li>Do not say anything for which you must apologize</li>

May Allah swt remove every obstacle before you & illuminate every darkness on your path and ease your burdens,

Ameen.

<em>Start off your Ibaadat</em> immediately after the Maghrib Salaah. Don’t wait till the last portion of the night to commence with ones Ibaadat.

Engage in as many Nafl Salaahs as possible:

<em>- Salaatut Taubah</em>

<em>- Salaatush Shukr</em>

<em>- Salaatul Haajat</em>

<em>- Salaatut Tasbeeh</em>

– Perform lengthy Rakaats of <em>Tahajjud Salaah</em>

Spend time in Tilaawah of Quraan; also recite:

<em>- Surah Yaseen</em>

<em>- Surah Waqiah</em>

<em>- Surah Mulk</em>

<em>- Surah Sajdah</em>

Make some Zikrullah ( or times each) of:

<em>- Istighfaar</em>

<em>- Durood Shareef</em>

<em>- Laa ilaha illallah</em>

<em>- rd Kalimah – Tamjeed</em>

<em>- th Kalimah – Tawheed</em>

<em>- ‘Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakeel’</em>

<em>- ‘Laa hawla wa laa quwaaata illaa billaahil ‘aliyyil ażeem’</em>

and other various Azkaar

Make Muhaasabah:

Ponder over one’s past life and firmly resolve to reform and change oneself.

Engage in much Taubah and Istighfaar. Seek Allāh تعالى’s Forgiveness for all past, present and future sins; minor and major, open and hidden.

Most important is that we should <em>make peace with Allah Ta’ala and enter into His Friendship</em>, by turning to Him in sincere repentance.

…Read the Rakaats Salaatut Taubah with sincerity, devotion, and dedication, with a clear mind and emptying the heart of all besides Allāh.

When we have completed the Rakaats try and put our head down in Sajdah and shed those tears and fervently make Dua to Allāh تعالى.

This is a special night for Dua. Make as much Dua as possible. Remember all your beloved ones and make Dua for the entire Ummat of Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم.

<strong>Hadith of the Day</strong>

‘Aa’isha رضى الله تعالى عنها says: “I heard Rasulullah read the following Dua in his Sajdah on this night (Shābe Barā’at):

اَعُوْذُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ عِقَابِكَ وَاَعُوْذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ جَلَّ وَجْهُكَ لَااُحْصِىْ ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ اَنْتَ كَمَا اَثْنَيْتَ عَلٰى نَفْسِكَ

<em>’ I seek protection in Your forgiveness from Your punishment, and I seek shelter in Your Pleasure from Your Displeasure; and I seek safety in You, from You. Glory be to You. I am unable to fully praise You. You are as you have praised Yourself.’</em>

Thereafter he said to me: “Learn this Dua and teach it to others. Jibra’eel عليه السلام taught this Dua to me and asked me to recite it in my Sajdah.” (Shu’abul Imaan #).

Many times a person’s body becomes stiff, spiritually, and Shaytaan plays on us to prevent us from performing these little acts of worship and if we follow these promptings of Shaytaan, then even Ramadaan will come and go and, the next thing we know, it will be time for us to leave this world…

Ibn Abbãs رضي الله عنهما narrates that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said:

He who constantly seeks forgiveness; Allãh will show him a way out of every distress, and a relief from every grief, and will provide for him with the means of sustenance from where he could never imagine. (Abu Dawood)

In Surah Yusuf – Allāh described the story of Prophet Yusuf as the most beautiful of stories. Why? Because regardless of what situation you’re going through in life – you can relate to something in it.

It teaches us that dreams do come true, hardship will turn in to ease, and nothing is better in this world than loyalty. It teaches us that those with gifts will be hated upon and plotted against – so patience is key. It teaches us that it’s never too late to say sorry and forgiveness takes the greatest courage. It teaches us du’as may be delayed but they are never rejected. It teaches us that the best of people have the most difficult beginnings but they always have the most beautiful endings. It teaches us that the affection and care of parents have no boundaries, love can cure, broken hearts can be fixed, and reuniting with those we care about is close. <h4><a name=”_Toc12962627″></a>HANAFI RULINGS ON FASTING – <strong>Hadith of the Day</strong></h4>

.Fasting of Ramadan requires a Niyyat (intention) which must be made any time from Maghrib on the previous day until midday on the actual day of the fast.

Waking up for Sehri is a Sunnah but not compulsory. If a person missed it then one must make a Niyyat to fast before midday and it is valid.

Eating or drinking forgetfully does not break the fast but one must not swallow anything after remembering the fast.

Exercise in the gym or strenuous work which causes extreme hunger and thirst is disliked and should be avoided.

Use of toothpaste is disliked and if any of the taste is swallowed then the fast breaks.

Gargling and sniffing water in the nose excessively are disliked and if it is swallowed the fast breaks.

Vomiting a mouthful breaks one’s fast if it was a mouthful and brought out deliberately.

. If the mouth or gums bleed and it is swallowed and one feels the taste of blood the fast breaks.

. Using an inhaler breaks the fast.

. Smoking a cigarette, hookah or sheesha breaks the fast.

. Bringing the nose close to an incense stick and inhaling its fumes or doing the same with Vicks vapor rub in heated water and inhaling it will break the fast.

. Applying medicine or Vicks inside the nose will break the fast.

. Inhaling gases, smoke, dust or fragrances which are spread in the air does not break the fast.

. Smelling perfume or flowers does not break the fast.

. Injections do not break the fast but should be avoided if possible.

. Having a blood test or operation or dental treatment does not break the fast but if anything is swallowed or medicine is applied to the head or stomach then the fast will break.

. Rubbing oil, lotion or cream on the body or placing a wet towel over oneself to keep cool does not break the fast.

. Hijama (cupping) does not break the fast.

. Removing hair or nails do not break the fast.

. Use of kohl (Surma) in the eyes does not break the fast.

. Putting oil or medicine in the ear or using eye drops should both be avoided during fasting.

. Lying, swearing, backbiting, upsetting parents, not praying Namaz and committing bad deeds etc. do not break the fast but make it disliked and deprived of blessings.

. A traveler is allowed to miss the fast only if one set off for the journey before the fast started.

. A sick person who cannot fast long days in summer but is able to fast on short winter days must fast in winter.

. One who is terminally ill, in intensive care or extremely old and cannot fast, must give £ Fidya to the poor for every missed fast.

. When a traveler becomes a resident and a sick person recovers they must make up the missed fasts.

. Sickness has to threaten one’s life or cause the health to worsen or recovery to be delayed due to fasting and must be evidenced by past experience, visible symptoms or genuine medical advice.

. A slight illness, mere headache, tiredness or having exams, etc. is not an excuse to miss a fast.

<strong>Hadith of the Day</strong>

<strong>_The gate to paradise for the fasting people_</strong>

Sahl رضي الله عنه reports that Rasúlullãh ﷺ said:

“There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it.

It will be said,

‘Where are those who used to observe fasts?’ They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry, the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it.” (Bukhari)

<h2><a name=”_Toc12962628″></a>_Fasting is for Me and I will compensate it_</h2>

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasulullah ﷺ said,

“Every act of man is multiplied. One good act is multiplied between ten to seven hundred times.

However, Allah says: ‘Except fasting because it is for Me and I shall compensate it. He gives up his passions and food for me.’

There are two moments of joy for the fasting person:

) When he breaks his fast.

) When he meets his sustainer.
