HOW TO HAVE YOUR DUA ANSWERED
Verily, those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, their Lord will guide them through their Faith; under them will flow rivers in the Gardens of Delight (Paradise).
Their way of request therein will be Subhanaka Allaahumma (Glory to You, O Allaah!) and Salaam (peace, safety from evil) will be their greetings therein (Paradise)! and the close of their request will be:
alHamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘AAlameen [All the praises and thanks be to Allaah, the Lord of ‘Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists)].
( سورة يونس , Yunus, Chapter #10, Verse #9-10)
Verse 10 describes the opening and closing statements to making such duaa that without a doubt will be granted.
Within these beautiful verses is the method of making dua, it is well understood that when a person enters jannah all their needs are fulfilled.
Trays of gold and cups will be passed round them; (there will be) therein all that inner-selves could desire, and all that eyes could delight in and you will abide therein forever.
( فرخزلا ةروس , Az-Zukhruf, Chapter #43, Verse #71)
Daily in our Salaah the supplication we recite after ruku is “sami ‘Allaahu liman Hamidah” “Allaah listens to those who praise him”
Allaah loves those who praise him, and what a beautiful praise it is to use the phrase subHaan…
SubHaan Allaah
SubHaan Allaahi wa biHamdih
SubHaan Allaahil ‘AZeem
SubHaanaka Allaahumma
SubHaana rabiyyal ‘AZeem
SubHaana rabbiyal a’Alaa
SubHaana rabbika rabbil ‘Izzati…
Abu Malik Al-Ashari narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Al-Wudu is half of faith,
and All praise is due to Allaah (Al-Hamdulillah) fills the Scale,
and Glory is to Allah and all praise is to Allaah (Subhan Allah Wal-Hamdulillah)’ fill” – or -“fills what is between the heavens and the earth,
and Salat is light and charity is an evidence,
and patience is an illumination,
and the Quran is a proof for you or against you.
And all people shall come to the morning selling their souls, either setting it free or destroying it.”
( Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3517 sahih)
Abdullah said:
“I was prayed and the Prophet (Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam), Abu Bakr, and Umar were there, so when I sat, I started off with praising Allaah, then sending Salat upon the Prophet (Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam) then supplicating for myself.
So the Prophet (Sollallaahu ‘Alayhi wa sallam) said:
‘Ask, your request will be granted, ask, your request will be granted.’”
(Jami` at-Tirmidhi 593 hasan)
Therefore every time we make duaa, let’s start with subHaanaka Allaahumma… And end with alHamdu lillaahi rabbil ‘AAlameen.
